Bindings

Binding is the process of tying oneself to a new plane or realm. It requires that the barrier between the crossed-over plane/realm is thick enough to create an EI - Ectogenesis Interconnection3, as an EI is the key to binding an individual to the new plane. The procedure is simple: a hole is cut around the umbilical cord, usually by cutting a cross-shape into the stomach, and the EI is placed back into its "cradle." The wound is then closed. This procedure returns the soul to the body, thus binding the individual to the new plane. If they were to pass through the barrier once more and return to their previous home-plane, they would form an EI once again. The return trip would not form an EI, but it would also not "reform" their body without the EI: the EI will always remain in a physically manifested form if bound to a new plane. Returning to your home-plane without binding yourself to a new one does revert the EI transformation.
