Ybis is part of a binary star system. It's two suns; Min and Aje. Aje is the larger sun, which Ybis orbits. It's light and heat hit the equator of Ybis. Min is the minor sun, which heats the upper hemisphere of Ybis, creating the Northern Badlands the Rolni call home and the Burning Wastes of the Qate. Min's unique angle also allows sunlight to get under the sky islands, giving the world equal lighting.

Ybis also has three moons; Donono, Cyrana, Gildor and Xamar. Xamar is a moon-moon of Donono.
